On Monday night, during the first ever College Football Playoff National Championship, Marvel debuted the second full-length trailer for Avengers: Age of Ultron. The trailer was originally teased at the beginning of the month, but we didn’t expect to see quite so much new footage this time around.
LAST TIME: All 13 episodes of Marvel’s ‘Daredevil’ are coming to Netflix on April 10th
All the footage that we’ve seen from the highly anticipated sequel has alluded to a much darker tone, and Marvel continues to explore that tone in the second trailer. The familiar “No Strings on Me” theme from the first trailer also returns, but leaves room for plenty of incredibly serious monologues from all of our favorite characters.
Age of Ultron is the second-to-last movie in Phase 2 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Following the incredibly hyped sequel, Ant-Man will make his debut in July to close out the second Phase. If you haven’t seen it yet, be sure to watch the recent trailer for that movie as well.
Then, in 2018 and 2019, the Avengers will reform once again for an epic clash with Thanos in Infinity War Part 1 and Part 2, presumably the curtain call for the current cast of Avengers. We’ve got our fingers crossed for a crossover with the Guardians of the Galaxy.
Avengers: Age of Ultron will make its way to theaters on May 1st, 2015.
