Building a Spotify playlist for a road trip or a get-together typically leads to undue stress. You can barely figure out what you want to listen to on your way to the grocery store — how in the world are you going to find hours worth of material for a group of people with completely disparate tastes? Rather than spend hours trying to mold the perfect playlist, you might want to check out Juke.

Juke is a free app for the iPhone that gives everyone a chance to be the DJ (without any of the effort that being a DJ normally entails).
Once you’ve downloaded Juke, all you need to do is turn on Bluetooth, connect your Spotify account and choose a playlist. When you get in range of another Juke user, your playlist will combine with theirs and the app will search through both playlists as it picks songs going forward.
In order to play music with Juke, you’ll need a Spotify premium account, but anyone with a free account can join in with their own playlist once the premium account owner has started blasting tunes. You can also mute other users in case a stranger’s playlist winds up in the mix (or someone at the party has a playlist packed with Black Eyed Peas songs and wants everyone to suffer).
