We haven’t heard much about Grand Theft Auto 6 since Rockstar Games shared the first trailer for the long-awaited sequel last December. That changed on Monday when publisher Take-Two Interactive provided a small but meaningful update about its release window.

In its fourth-quarter earnings report, Take-Two confirmed that Grand Theft Auto 6 is still on track for a 2025 launch (despite rumors to the contrary). The publisher even went as far as to narrow down the release window from the next calendar year to Fall 2025.

Here’s the relevant GTA 6 quote from the Take-Two report on Monday: “As we enter Fiscal 2025 with positive momentum, we expect to deliver Net Bookings of $5.55 to $5.65 billion. Our outlook reflects a narrowing of Rockstar Games’ previously established window of Calendar 2025 to Fall of Calendar 2025 for Grand Theft Auto VI.”

This is the first real news we’ve heard about GTA 6 since the trailer dropped last year. Rockstar is known for keeping its cards close to the vest, but the silence has been notable. After all, some insiders have suggested that the latest Grand Theft Auto could be the killer app for the PS5 Pro. It’s sure to be one of the biggest games of the generation following the success of GTA 5, and if the best way to play it is on the souped-up PS5, it will sell those consoles.

In the meantime, fans are anxiously awaiting more footage and information about the game. It seems unlikely that GTA 6 will have a presence at Summer Game Fest, but we’ll be keeping an eye out anyway. After all, as secretive as Rockstar is, the developer also has a penchant for surprises. We could get the next trailer when we least expect it.
