A week and a half ago, Netflix released the first full-length trailer for the second season of Daredevil. The trailer focused on the inevitable clash between Daredevil and The Punisher — two “heroes” who have very different ideologies. But that’s only one aspect of the upcoming season, as we learn in the second part of the trailer.

Picking up right where the first trailer left off, it’s obvious that Matt Murdock and Elektra Natchios have a rocky history. Unfortunately for the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen, he’s the only one that Elektra trusts to help her stop the Yakuza from reclaiming the city once Daredevil has cleared out all of their opposition.
The trailer gives us our best look yet at the updated costume, which appears to feature a set of terrifying red eyes, presumably to distract attackers. Matt also tells Foggy that he’s going to stop apologizing for being who he has to be.
The first season had a clear objective: stop Kingpin. It doesn’t look like things will be quite as simple in season 2, with an old flame returning, a vigilante with a gun causing chaos, the threat of a resurrected Yakuza and, to cap it all off, the rise of The Hand — one of Daredevil’s most persistent foes in the comics.
Daredevil returns to Netflix for season 2 on March 18th.
