Apple’s HomePod is a fantastic speaker… if all you want to do is listen to music in one room of your home. It doesn’t yet support multi-room streaming, it doesn’t yet support left and right channel pairing, and it doesn’t really have much “smarts” compared to other smart speakers, since it’s hampered by Siri. So yeah, it’s a speaker. A $349 speaker. If you want the same great sound quality from a company that has its act together a bit better than Apple at the moment, Sonos is obviously the way to go. And right now on Amazon you can get not one but two Sonos speakers for $51 less than you’d pay for a single HomePod. The Sonos PLAY:1 2-Room Wireless Smart Speaker Set is available for just $298 while supplies last, so definitely get in on the action while you can.
