The Amazon Echo was a game-changer, but the device’s best feature has precious little to do with hardware. Instead, the Echo is merely a means of interacting with Alexa, Amazon’s virtual personal assistant that can answer your questions, place orders for you on Amazon, control smart connected devices in your home, and much more. If you want to gain access to Alexa but you don’t want to pay $180 for an Echo speaker that has to be plugged into the wall, there are several good portable options out there. A new one is called the Fabriq Alexa-Enabled Smart Speaker, and it’s a device that packs a whole lot of punch into a cute little speaker.

Here are some product highlights:

  • Amazon‘s Alexa Voice Service puts you in full control of your surroundings. Order a Pizza, set a timer, turn up a song. Just tap the Mic button and ask away
  • Wi-Fi capabilities let you connect multiple speakers throughout your home for an even greater sound experience
  • No wifi? No problem. FABRIQ duals as a Bluetooth speaker so you can bring your tunes to go
  • 2″ Precision active driver & 5W of power for crisp sound at any volume
  • Play music from Spotify, Pandora, TuneIn, iHeartRadio, Airplay, Prime music and other streaming platforms

The Fabriq Alexa-Enabled Smart Speaker comes in three different fabric-covered models — get it? — and it costs just $49.99 on Amazon. Preorders are available right now, and the device will begin shipping on October 30.
