If you’ve been reading about iOS 10 all summer long with envy as other people chat about the iOS 10 beta that you didn’t quite have enough faith in to install, it’s time to put an end to the jealousy. And we can’t say we blame you, by the way — the iOS 10 beta run has been extremely stable, but Apple has released some truly shaky beta software in the past so it’s understandable if some people made sure to avoid it.

Today marks the end of the beta period though, and Apple’s new iOS 10 software has been released for all iPhone, iPad and iPod touch users.

If you haven’t been following coverage of Apple’s new iOS 10 software, it really is a terrific update that’s packed full of new features, refinements and optimizations. That said, definitely don’t go into this update looking for much in the way of innovation. As has been the case with the past few iOS updates from Apple, iOS 10 is more about renovation and leveling certain features with Android than it is about innovative new features.

In the iOS 10 update, you’ll find a brand new Messages app that adds a number of fun and useful new features. Whereas Messages had previously been a slightly enhanced SMS app and service before, it’s now a bit closer to being on par with the new generation of feature-rich messaging apps. Sadly though, it’s still not cross-platform.

Apple’s Maps app has been enhanced with third-party app integration, the Music app has been redesigned to be much more user-friendly, and Apple’s lock screen experience has been completely revamped with refined widgets and a convenient new raise-to-wake feature. Siri is dramatically improved, the Photos app has been revamped and there’s plenty more to enjoy.

So what are you waiting for? iOS 10 is available for download beginning immediately as an over the air (OTA) update, and it can also be downloaded and installed through iTunes.

Apple’s new iOS 10 update is compatible with the following devices:
