Email hurts and everyone knows the pain all too well. Inboxes have a funny way of overflowing with more messages than you know what to do with, and it can be overwhelming. Facebook notifications, emails from your boss, emails from your coworkers, emails from your parents asking you how to fix their email… it all tends to pile up faster than you can deal with it. Isn’t there any way to stop it?

I have good news and bad news. The bad news is that the answer is no, there really isn’t a way to stop it and remain a productive member of developed society. But the good news is that there are new options out there that might help make dealing with email slightly less painful.

DON’T MISS: 5 things you can do to make your iPhone faster

I’ve written a few times about how much I dislike email and which tools I use to cope with the hundreds of emails I get each day. I’m reasonably happy with my current setup (I’m using Airmail on my Mac and iPhone now that Outlook stopped syncing read status), but a new app recently caught my eye. It’s called Morning Mail and in a nutshell, it’s Tinder for email.

After all, there’s a Tinder for everything else, so why not email?

Like Tinder, swipe gestures are the basis for interacting with your inbox in Morning Mail. Messages show up as cards with basic info and a preview. Swipe left to delete an email, right to archive it, or down to mark it as read and leave it in your inbox. Tapping a message opens it and lets you read and interact with it as you normally would.

There is definitely novelty in an interface modeled after Tinder, but there’s also utility. It lets you run through your unread messages very quickly and efficiently. The rest of the interface is also well-designed, making this an email app that’s definitely worth trying out.

Morning Mail is a free download from the App Store, and it’s free to use with one email account. $0.99 in-app purchases let you add additional mailboxes one at a time, or a $4.99 one-time purchase lets you add unlimited accounts.
