Now that Sprint’s numbers are in, each of the three major U.S. carriers have reported sales totals for the top smartphone series in the world. The company on Thursday said that it sold 1.5 million iPhone handsets, pushing the third-quarter total to 9.3 million units in the United States. Verizon (VZ) last week reported having sold 3.1 million iPhones last quarter, and AT&T (T) managed to activate 4.7 million iPhones during the same period. Apple (AAPL) is scheduled to report its financial results for the September quarter after the market closes on Thursday.
