I am not exaggerating when I say this is the best thing about iOS 10.

As spotted by MacRumors, a bunch of the stock Apple apps are now downloadable from the App Store. Why are they downloadable? Because you can delete them, of course!

A number of people who have downloaded the iOS 10 beta have confirmed that you can now delete (and re-download) a number of the stock apps. Included in the list are:

Weather
Stocks
Mail
Maps
Notes
Voice Memos
Watch
Music
FaceTime
Weather
iTunes Store
Calendar
Contacts
Videos
Calculator
Compass
Tips

Safari and Messages are the only notable omissions from that list (because duh), but in theory there’s nothing stopping that from changing in the future.

Apart from finally freeing us from the shackles of the Stocks app, there’s another good reason why Apple would be breaking out the stock apps like this. Individual app downloads means that individual apps can be updated without needing to do a full iOS update, making life easier for both Apple and end users.
