Retina iPad mini blows away older iPad mini in new benchmarks

iPad Mini Retina Benchmarks

The Retina-equipped iPad mini may be more expensive than the original iPad mini but it looks like people who buy the new device will at least be getting more bang for their bucks. MacRumors points out that new Geekbench 3 benchmarks show the new Retina-equipped iPad mini’s A7 processor performs five times better than the original iPad mini’s processor. MacRumors also notes that the new iPad mini’s processor performs about as well as the processor in the iPhone 5s and slightly worse than the processor in the iPad Air. Apple’s Retina-equipped iPad mini first went on sale starting Tuesday morning, although the company is only letting users order the device through its website and has only a limited number of devices available for in-store pickup.
