Odd that they won’t compete on price with the iPhone 4S. Apple is the low-cost leader now? Who knew!

4G radios aren’t cheap. This time next year they will have the process down pat and the radios will actually be smaller and more efficient, which means thinner phones and better battery life.

      • Anonymous

Way to out on a limb there. You sure they wont engineer them to be bigger and kill batteries faster?

      • http://twitter.com/GRZLA Grizzly Atoms

        Troll be trollin.

You mean how phones have gotten bigger and drain batteries faster than a few years ago.  Yes, sometimes in technology you have a paradigm shift so that functionality can improve and meet the demands of end users (mobile computing device, multimedia device, phone, GPS, etc.).  So yes, I do see phones getting slightly bigger (as they already have) due to the nature of end user requirements and the consolidation of devices.

Gee is that why we didn’t see a 4g iPhone? That and the fact that 4g is nowhere. How super Insanely smart of Apple.

      • Guest

Uhhhh..i get internet in my apartment by tethering sprints 4G network (easy tether pro, of course)…i use it ALL the time. And besides, I don’t use my camera a lot on my phone, it wastes battery too, does that mean I shouldn’t have it? Of course not, but apple fans wouldn’t get that concept

      • Adam Zettel

I agree that it was smart of Apple because of battery drain, but those of us on Verizon already have 4G. Or what is it like 186 million people in America. I realize the network is underdeveloped for AT&T and nonexistent for Spring (well true 4G that is), but it kind of sucks now that we will have an iphone for 2 years with no 4G. And i have the iphone 4S… Battery life or extremely fast data? The reason I returned my bionic.

      • http://twitter.com/GRZLA Grizzly Atoms

Verizon’s LTE network is on par if not larger than AT&T’s 3g market. You don’t know what you are talking about little boy.

    • Anonymous

Yeah they gotta pay for that fancy new LTE network. They’re not making it up in monthly charges so they’re charging more for LTE phones. If the iPhone wasn’t such a step behind in radio tech they’d charge more for it too. Who is impressed by Apple’s release of a 14mbps HSPA+ phone when the Amaze 4G just launched with a 41mbps radio? iPhones suck!

      • Anonymous

Yes a 41mbps CAMERA phone. That first off runs on tmobile’s spotty HSPA+42 network that isnt close to ready to go. In actuality the speeds top out at 14.4 Mbps. Which the iPhone 4s does on AT&T. Nice try.

      • Adam Zettel

Truth be told AT&T users will never really use the 14.4 Mbps either. Let’s be serious now, the network leaves a lot to be desired! And T-mobile… hahahaha 41 mbps…. oh now thats funny.

Why do the 5% of the worlds population who live in a decent 4G area think every phone should be built to their needs? Dumbass. If you want 4G speeds with a crappy ass laggy interface get an android if you want a quality phone get an iPhone. Simple as that.

      • Anonymous

5%??? try again.. this time after doing some research. Just Verizon’s superfast 4G LTE covers MOST of America…

      • http://twitter.com/ggore Glenn Gore

Really?   Are you kidding me?   Verizon’s 4G covers MOST of America????    Boy are you living in a dreamworld, you can drive hundreds of miles in between the little tiny pockets of Verizon’s 4G coverage, through dozens of cities, mid-size towns and small towns on the way.     Verizon’s 4G network covers almost half the U.S. population and 2% of the land area.   Unless you never move more than a mile from your house you are probably OK, but the other 99% of us travel around on occasion and would like to have some coverage while we are doing it, but right now that just ain’t happening.

    • Anonymous

Well when you tech is way behind the times, it should be cheaper…

    ah! so tempting…

I’m waiting on the Galaxy Nexus myself.

      • Anonymous

same here. have to be patient enough to see them together in the store side by side.

      • http://twitter.com/GRZLA Grizzly Atoms

Do yourself a favor and don’t buy Motorola. Their MotoBlur cripples devices, and you will get updates constantly directly from Goolge with the Galaxy Nexus.

      • Anonymous

@twitter-133878082:disqus i was given an OG Droid and complained enough to verizon about it to get a D2 for free. over the last 18 months combined, i can still count on 1 hand how many days it has not been hacked to run custom ROM. i would be after the RAZR for the specs (mostly build quality) in hopes CM or someone can put the software/OS to good use.

      • http://twitter.com/GRZLA Grizzly Atoms

@sc0rch3d:disqus The problem with Moto is that it takes awhile for them to actually get the phone where you can actually install custom roms. With all the security this thing is boasting, such as government level data encryption, it won’t be very easy to get bootstrap running on it. I’m sure the dev community will crack it open, but that locked bootloader is such a big issue. I personally don’t run stock kernels and always install a custom one, from what I remember that can’t be done since the Droid 2.

    • http://twitter.com/Everlong44 S.C.

I wouldn’t buy a motorola phone again for the exact reason grizzly says, updates. All the motorola phones I’ve owned are neglected once another phone comes out. Google will support the nexus until you upgrade again.

      • Anonymous

do you own N1 or S? does goog play favorites to them?

      • http://twitter.com/GRZLA Grizzly Atoms

I have a Nexus One and Google themselves send you the updates, not the carrier. So they are on their own update cycle that the carrier doesn’t have to approve. If Google okay’s the update then you get it. Now with non-nexus phones it is the OEM’s job to get the updates to you, and have to get carrier approval before hitting your phone via the carriers servers.

just waiting on the apple haters . they just wait for a android phone to post on these sites , so they can have something to say. im sick of them already. its only android they do this with .

    • http://twitter.com/GRZLA Grizzly Atoms

The iPhone 4S is a superior device because I am a sheep and I cannot think. I saw that Steve Jobs died and I bought a new iPhone and I am still unsure why I did that.

      • VirginMerry

Go slit yourself with the new Razr.  I’m sure with MotoBlurr it will be one hell of a device.

      • http://twitter.com/GRZLA Grizzly Atoms

I’m not buying that junk. Motorola is almost as bad of an OEM for Android as LG is. Granted Motorola does issue updates, but MotoBlur is the worst thing to happen to Android.

LOL, what are you talking about?  Let me start off by saying that I love Apple products…I have an iPad 2, iPod Touch, and two 2nd gen Apple TVs (one for each room), however their phone has been behind the curve for over 2years now.  No options, apps inundate my home screen so I can’t even see my wall paper, screen is still too small (although it is a beautiful screen), very little social network integration (Just now getting Twitter), and no ability to look up details of pictures I take with my phone (date & time taken).  Although the picture thing sounds minute, it means a lot for parents like myself as I take many pictures of my family and want to reference exact dates/times when necessary.  Also, When is turn-by-turn GPS going to added?  Again, be objective and you too will admit the iphone is behind “High end” Android phones…other Apple products are great though.

      • Adam Zettel

I just got the iphone 4S… i would have to agree. It “seems” more stable than my motorola droid. But im feeling a bit behind the times with this turn-by-turn GPS. I didnt realize how fortunate android users are. OMG the default navigation app is amazing… come on Apple! Other than that I must say things have been good, its snappy, the new notifications finally convinced me to switch. They make solid products, they just need to work on a few things…

      • Anonymous

well put , i think im in the same boat . i like my ipad sometimes , but i always need my phone about to assist it (lack of flash)
but if it was my phone , i would be up shits creak.

    “The hotly anticipated smartphone…”

    Galaxy Nexus?

  • Anonymous

I”m guessing this has 32 gb of storage.

  • Anonymous

So maybe we will get a GNexus price/pre-order date/release date Friday or early next week??

  • Fraud Police

Fans can stream NFL mobile……. on WiFi because of our ridiculous low data caps. So while we have fast LTE you better not use it! Oh you can watch Netflix at home too, on your TV. No need to bother with LTE. Would bust our data caps in 2 days. So all the things we say you can do is just marketing bullshit, we don’t actually expect you to do these things because we are frauds.

    • http://twitter.com/GRZLA Grizzly Atoms

I have unlimited data with a 4G phone currently. Did you jump to Verizon after they adopted AT&T’s lame data system?

    • Adam Zettel

I still have unlimited too! But your right… had the Bionic for 10 days and used 2.5 Gbs, being on wifi a lot at home too. Data hogs!!! I dont know how someone would survive with a 2 GB limit, even if they use wifi.

      • Anonymous

i have ten days before my cycle ends , and im already at 3.7 gigs . i also have unlimited

  • D2

I see Motorola hasn’t learned anything at all. Same boring design, again and again. Look at the bionic, droid x1 & droid x2 and now the droid razr. This is what almost made them collapse the first time.

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1239054964 Conrad Noland

I agree.  I can’t stand the design but it is definitely getting a lot of praise from reviewers…I think mostly because of how thin it is and the Kevlar backing.  It does look slick compared to the Galaxy Nexus, which is “plain” in comparison.

I’ll be first in line tomorrow. I haven’t bought a new android device in 3 days!

    • Anonymous

Hey don’t get all huffy because your tiny screen on your iPhone matches your tiny penis.

      • Anonymous

You know, there’s a direct correlation between a mans obsession with large screens and their shortcomings on “other” areas. Right?

  • Yoyo

Good thing i have an upgrade, that’s my beauty right there

  • Anonymous

Will it beat the iPhone 4S in pre orders??!!??!! Overpriced, obsolete, lagdroid. Pepsi guarantee this phone will hit the 1 cent discount bin in a week. 👊😜 true story™©®

      Lol at lagdroid.

Perfect.  But I can’t use the cool new Android beam or Google wallet.

That’s ok, it’ll have Ice Cream by January.

Oh… but it still won’t have an NFC chip.  Next….

why would someone get this over the nexus?

  • Anonymous

Sounds to me like you might just be onto something there. Seems logical to me dude.
