Dell working on dual-core successor to Streak, Opus One?

mobile

The following story is based completely on hearsay, so we encourage you to consume it with a hefty dose of NaCl. That being said: Blog Streak Smart is reporting that a source who recently attended a private presentation, hosted by OEM Dell, was told that a successor to the 5-inch, Android Streak handset is due out in May of 2011. The purported handset — code named the Opus One — will sport an upgraded resolution (somewhere in the 1280 x 800 range) and, allegedly, wield a 1.2GHz dual-core processor. Now, we all know how timely Dell was on getting the first Streak out the door, so… if you have a thing for over-sized smartphones, we suggest not getting your hopes up. Still, it will be interesting to see how/if Dell furthers the Streak platform, especially considering how well the first one did.

Is it going to be stuck on AT&T or will it work with VZW or Sprint?

Played with a Streak the other day, and 5 inches definitely is too small to be a tablet and a bit too big for a phone. I love my DroidX, but think a size between the two is going to be the sweet spot. Maybe 4.7″?
