Apple seeding iOS 4.1 GM to developers

If you are anxious to get iOS 4.1 onto your device, and are enrolled in Apple’s developer program, you’re in luck. Apple has just updated developer.apple.com with the new iOS 4.1 Gold Master bits; the update weighs in at a hefty 590 MB. If you find anything new and interesting — that wasn’t mentioned in today’s keynote — be sure to drop a note about it in the comments.

        I can’t upgrade my iPhone4. It says “software isn’t compatible”. My device is registered and certified. Do I have to have the new SDK installed too?

        Yes. I’d recommend a restart too. Apple’s got a few things going on today, their activation server’s likely a bit overloaded right now, try back a bit later – I’d recommend checking the Provisioning Portal to make sure your device(s) still show up.

      Me too! Updating from 4.0.1. Now wont restore even to 4.0.2. Any ideas? Anyone?

      I assume you’re stuck on recovery mode? Try using RecBoot to get out of Recovery Mode.

    i just download it from P##### ##Y and am going to try and see if it works without a Dev account. Ill post how it goes. BTY file was a 590mb download but the actual ipsw is 619mb

    Just update iphone 4 using itunes 9.1.2 and everything worked fine. Running iOS 4.1 just fine now I just need some game center friends, ackbarman is my name. Go ahead and update if you want to. it does update the baseband on the phone so if you rely on an unlock dont do it.

      Totally fixed for me. I was cheek dialing like a fiend, and I spent about an hour on the phone without a problems last night.

      Now I just need a jailbreak for 4.1 and I’m golden…

    iOS 4.1 didn’t fix my proximity sensor any one else with this problem. I’m so sick of apple. This sucks.

      I havent really been able to tell if the proximity sensor has been fixed. I have only had a few calls but so far not one has a button been pushed because the screen turned back on, we will have to see though after a little more time. @Andrew I know how you are feeling because I have been frusterated, I took my phone in the other day because at least 50% of my calls get messed up with that proximity sensor issue, the guy said if the update doesn’t fix it then they would give me a new phone, so maybe they will do the same for you. I too am sick of the iphone now and no longer enjoy it anymore (I still hate android) and want to switch to a pre or BB and just get a new touch but now I will have to wait for an unlock for the new baseband so I can sell my iPhone 4, but now I am just rambling. Ill post again with some updates on my proximity sensor issues.

    Have 4.1 GM on my 3GS. Native camera app has zoom but no HDR

      I just confirmed on apple.com that HDR is only available on iPhone 4… missed that point earlier.

    Well I downloaded the iOS 4.1 GM last night. And guess what they fix the proximity sensor already. I really didn’t see any antenna being better all I see was a higher bar. Besides that everything seems to be ok. I dont know what else is experiencing thought?

    Wow. That IS hefty. Oh wait… that’s about the same size and the last update…. and the 1 before it… and the 1 before that… and ALL the updates.

    Does BGR actually read what they write????

    Apple OS updates *ALWAYS* just replace the full OS. They always are about 590 mb.

    The update worked great for me.
    I never had an issue with the proximity sensor so I can’t comment on any changes.
    The update to the camera is much appreciated. The white balance seems fixed when using the hdr option. The AVRCP support in bluetooth is a big deal for me. Finally can use my stereo headset at the gym with the ability to skip between songs.

    @Debbie Before you get mad at BGR, do some research. Only the last two updates have been 590 Mb. They used to be less than 300
