Verizon Wireless customers in the market for a new handset may want to put the brakes on any purchases until next week. One of our insiders tipped us off to a sale on handsets that is slated to start on Monday, June 28th. The promotion extends to both smartphones and feature phones and includes the following handsets:

  • LG enV Touch: $49.99 after $100 mail-in-rebate ($30 drop). Eligible for BOGO (buy one get, one same device).
  • BlackBerry Storm 2: $149 after $100 mail-in-rebate ($30 drop). Eligible for BOGA (buy one, get any device of equal or lesser value).
  • Nokia Twist: $49.99 after $50 mail-in-rebate ($50 drop).
  • Kin ONE: $29.99 after $100 mail-in-rebate ($30 drop). Eligible for BOGA.
  • Kin TWO: $49.99 after $100 mail-in-rebate ($30 drop). Eligible for BOGA.

With an average savings of $30, the sale is on the small side, especially for the singleton looking to score one phone; but a couple, with two phones in hand, can do well with the price drop and the BOGO combined.

MORE JUNK FOR USE ON THE OVERPRICED-OVERRATED NETWORK THAT STEALS AND CHEATS THE AMERICAN PEOPLE.

    • Joe B.

It’s ranked #1 in Reliability, Coverage, and Customer Service. How is that overated?

What I’d like to know is how you can steal from customers when they are all voluntarily paying you? Now, the government steals every day because people have no choice but to pay their fees as they tax necessities like your home and your income. Ted Kennedy was one of the biggest thieves in American history. He also got away with murder. Hmm…

its funny you argue semantics about stealing then without any sense of irony contradict yourself with that stupid murder comment

Based on what? J. D. Powers put Verizon and AT&T in the same camp for all three of those. T-Mobile ranked #1 in that customer service.

      • ChocoTaco

JD Power consistently ranked AT&T either the worst or the second worst in all markets except for the East Coast, where they scored 2nd behind Verizon. This was in terms of network reliability, coverage and sound. They wound up tied with Sprint for the worst carrier. Verizon and T-Mobile easily took the #1 spot in pretty much a tie with Verizon dominating in coverage and T-Mobile with great customer service, Verizon second to T-Mobile. Get it right.

And yet 92 million people like to be cheated?

I know English may not be your first language, but I’d take some of that money you are saving on your phone bill and take some English composition courses.

  • grrr

    Come on droidx.

  • MacMan

I’m not a hater but not one phone catches my eye. Droid x would have been nice hey how about a camera for video chat. Just to have it I don’t use it much but hey it looks good on the spec sheet.

    Kin FAIL.

    • Dream

Dont forget KIN 2 , somewhere I read that they only Sold 500 of them.

  • Teco221

Well, they can always give away phones to lure more people to tie into 2 years contract.

  • Oren

When are VZW gonna realize that the reason Kin isn’t selling well isn’t because of the price of the phone but because of the ridiculous text AND data plan requirements? They should really offer some sort of discounted bundle for Kin owners if they want to move those devices.

    • Ironhide

There is no text requirement with the KIN only a Data requirement and yeah it would be nice to have a discounted Data offering for the phone.

  • DEATH of KIN

This is the end of Microsoft’s Kin phone, before it gets axed completely.

Verizon is only discounting the phones that nobody wants. Kin was a hobbled handset. Couldn’t do Twitter properly. Had no apps. No calendar. Lots of bugs.

Yet another failure to add to Microsoft’s long list of mobile catastrophes.

    • darshone

lol at microsoft. i remember the days when i thought windows was superior, and that microsoft was a name i could trust. my how the times have changed. you couldnt force me to purchase a microsoft product today. i have seen nothing but failure after failure from them, the fall of their monopoly is comprable to the fall of rome, only in technology. to much expansion, not enough care or innovation.
