Verizon Wireless stores opening at 6AM on November 6th?

Why all the motohaters?

My E815 was the best phone I’ve ever had, and my only Moto, the Droid will be my second.

In writing for tech pubs over the years, I’ve been greatly amused by nerds who have spend so much of their lives distinguishing themselves from the idiot high school jocks and sports fans … yet cling to operating systems and hardware with the zeal of a drunken, face-painting, beer-swilling sports fanatic.

Maybe I just notice it more because I’m a girl. A girl who gets around. I’ve had many lovers; starting with the Amiga….

Although I’ve been spurned by crappy overpriced mac hardware over the years, I love my iPod touch and mbp.

But I also love my Linux and XP boxes. A girl needs a variety of toys in her chest…. In their own ways, each is a celebration of what humans can do. Some humans are j a little smarter and easier to like than others.

I would buy an iPhone, but prefer a phone that actually allows me to make phone calls to a pretty face plate.

Perhaps more importantly, I’m moving to android because open development is something I believe in and want to support. I think that these offerings by Verizon, though imperfect, will make me sweat and enhance my tattoo, even if I do occasionally get my thong in a bunch over their inherent memory limitations.

I used to work with Motorola, not on the phone side of things myself but I did deal with some of the phone people… they were idiots. Complete idiots. Stuff like, shipments of parts would come in to our building for the phone people… so we’d send it to them, and then they would send it back because “it wasn’t theirs”… it was freakin’ RAZR bodies… how was it not theirs?!

Sorry. They still anger me to this day.

Anyways, if the VZW stores do open at 6am on the 6th I may have to stop by before I go about my day.

Would Verizon.com start at midnite? Or does it start the same time as it’s stores?

anyone think it will be worth waiting until black friday sales?

Im concerned about inventory for those of us that cant make it to the store that morning or until late in the afternoon. I was talking with a VZW rep that stated when the HTC Imagio came in they only received 6 units and they were sold out quickly. I hope with the hype of the Droid that there will be a few Dozen or more units.

Also, I plan on adding a line and I’ll use that to get the Droid. Will Best Buy do the add a line and allow me to pre order the Droid, anyone know?

I have never seen so many iphone fanboys running with their tails between their legs with the fear that some else might buy something that is not made by apple. If people want to get excited and wait in line, don’t ibash them. Its their time not yours.

Don’t forget to slather plenty o Preparation H on that Droid. I love the way in almost all of the video reviews the thing gets hung up and lags as if it was an HTC device. Return rate of the Moto-roid, I’m laying odds on 20%, take the over if you can get it. Nobody wants a boxy prop open typewriter with an already tired UI. And for all of you prevaricators that claim to work for VZW, Motorola, Prep H and Pocket Protectors r Us, c’mon and quit the bull-schteining.

Like I siad before… this phone rocks, I am posting on bgr right now with no lag and have only charged it once since when I received it on Tuesday. I have very little expierence with using an iphone so I have no way to compare the two devices. I am using the slide keyboard to type this and it works nice, not perfect. The touch screen works awesome, I am just use to my curve so I am still use to using a physical keyboard.

I work for vzw, and we got word today our store in MI will be opening at 7am and every rep will be working it.

This phone is awesome. I’m using it right now, outside of a little town 45 min from grand rapids mi. 3g net work is awsome. Non excisting with Iphone go verizon.

A vzw rep let me see one today after I asked if they had one behind the counter. It is too cool. I have email hosted with google apps, so this is perfect. Virtual keyboard is easy to use, as is the physical keyboard (I don’t have small hands). I didn’t want to give it back. My blackberry curve has been the best phone I have ever owned (had treos, moto q), and I am making the jump. I really wanted to like the storm 2, but I will be buying the droid. Maybe rim will get it right next time. Like any phone, its all in what you need. The vzw reps said the storm 2 would be their next phone.

I was just at a large verizon store in mayfield hts ohio and none of the idiots working there heard anything about the store opening at 6am on friday, is that just a rumor or what?

Wack… BlackBerry is the best smartphone, well I guess that’s my opinion.

By the way, what’s good about this device. The Storm2 is the best device so far for me that’s the “perfect storm” so whatever.

Technically, no one is stuck with any company. All you have to do is buy your way out, like I did. Sure, I left Verizon for AT&T to get an iPhone and I’m glad I did…for the phone. The network is still pretty bad, although not as bad as most people say. The biggest problem for Verizon was their phone slection, or lack there of. They tried with the Storm, and we all know where that got them. Let’s hope they don’t blow it with the Droid….
