Different choices for different demographics:

1.Anodized metal alloy colors, i.e. magnesium

a.iPod style colors (Youth)

b.Professional and elegant choices(Adult)
i.e. silver/platn/pewter,across the line!

2.Carbon fiber (Sport/PRO)

3.Plastics Original iMac style colors (Education/Parental control)

Consider acquiring the technology, service or a company such as Colorware!
Envision the market share and sales increase, to individuals and institutions!
Cost could easily be recuperated, simply by adding a 10-15% surcharge, and still come out ahead, by countless happy loyal and new customers!

P.S.
On a different note, please reconsider an Apple Mini/Netbook,or at least a 7-9 inch iPod Touch!

Hmmm, except that ‘different demographics’ for Apple products would more realistically be:

1. Classic white and Emo black, for the starving artist (be it art/photo, music or wannabe filmmaker), even though they probably aren’t starving since they bought a Mac. Jokes aside, graphic arts and ProTools are probably the 2 most legit reasons that you could own a Mac that won’t have Apple haters rolling their eyes

2. Macbook Air in red… because you’ll be in the red for spending twice as much for a laptop that has one usb port and requires you purchase an optical drive separately. Oh, but it’s so thin!

3. various Neon colors with strobe light Apple logo for all the fanboys who need to show off

4. Dust grey for college kids who’s Mac will collect dust because they or their mommies bought it based on ‘hipness’ rather than actually determine if it was actually necessary… buying a Macbook to look at facebook everyday and play Sims while stoned? What a waste…. just like your scholarship!

This is running after the troubles. The MacBook Pro has been designed in such a way that it considers the aluminum body in the heat disipation. If you paint your MacBook Pro, you increase your chance for getting overheat issues an failures. Sexy or not, it is not a good idea. My .02.
