Vodafone Storm Free on All Tariffs Over £35

General

According to the Times Online, Vodafone will be giving away the BlackBerry Storm for free to all users who sign an 18-month contract. The catch? Your monthly tariff has to be £35. The Times also bragged revealed that they were granted a little one-on-one time with the Storm and found it be be a bit larger and heavier than it’s competition, but overall felt the Storm to be “sleek and stylish” as well as “easy to hold and use.” While discussing the competition, RIM’s co-CEO Mike Lazaridis was quoted as saying the haptic feedback of the Storm allows for a “touchscreen that people don’t have to learn how to use, because its very natural. When you’re using the phone itself, you’re actually pushing buttons. [Unlike other touchscreens] you don’t have to learn how to do that.”

Fanboys, as hard as it is to resist saying something slick, we’ll leave the commentary for the last quote to you.

The Storm is going to take the Iphone to task….and you can take that to the bank. ;)

The iPhone will be a glorified Simon game system once this drops.

“touchscreen that people don’t have to learn how to use, because its very natural. When you’re using the phone itself, you’re actually pushing buttons. [Unlike other touchscreens] you don’t have to learn how to do that.” – So it’s simple to push on a screen compared to the difficulties of tapping on it? Retarded. Still getting it tho haha.

So overrated, there’s no way this is replacing the iPhone for you stupid Verizon fangirls. I don’t have an iPhone nor do I want one, but it has its place and it won’t be bumped, especially by a Blackberry.

Black93300zx your as gay as they come! Just because you can’t afford one(when it comes out!) doesint mean this phone is gonna flop! Yer just a dumb bastard who likes to start shit that you no nothin about!

i have an iphone and i didnt have to “learn” how to do anything… except live without copy and paste.

Word antman. A much better phone than the iphone from the specs alone. Of course if you want to sit in coffee shops sipping over priced brew with a black turtle neck, then by all means get yerself what every other turtle neck, coffee drinking yuppie wannabe has. We’ll see how really good the Storm is when it’s out and fully reviewed, but it looks promising.

I know the BGR team hasn’t officially thrown out pics of having a Storm (though it wouldn’t surprise me if ones playing hot potato between the team as we speak) so maybe you all might be able to answer this:

I know that Haptic Feedback is done through the Immersion Corporation, but is it just the same type as what you find on the touch screen razrs or has it been specialized in some way for the upcoming Storm?

I love the iPhone’s UI but if anyone is going to sit here and say that there isn’t a learning curve in using a touch screen device then you’re delusional. Maybe you all might be used to them that is why you’re saying that but initially when you pick one up, it is not grab and go and automatic, it takes a little getting used to. The same will be for the Storm since it might feel like real keys but you’re using a touch screen. One always has to adjust so Mike is right but it also applies to the Storm as well.

How come no-one has mentioned the fact that it doesn’t have WI-FI? This could be a deal breaker….
