Talk about a slap in the face! If this holds true, Nokia is going to have a whooooole lot of angry N95 owners on its hands. Word is beginning to circulate that the N95 8GB NAM aka North American N95 8GB aka N95-4 has just been issued the big firmware update that the European variant recently received. We tried updating ours but apparently there’s a product code issue from what we understand, because Nokia Software Updater told us that our 1.2.011 firmware was current. Bah. If an update is in fact beginning to trickle across the internet, it would come ahead of the N95 NAM aka North American N95 aka N95-3 update that owners have been waiting for… Well, forever. We still maintain that the N95-3 firmware update delays are a result of an impending carrier deal with AT&T, but that hardly means current owners shouldn’t be upset. Whatever the case may be, drop us a line if your N95 8GB NAM is updatable and let us know what’s good. The new firmware will presumably be in line with the European update but since Nokia never formally announces firmware or provides users with a formal change log, we won’t know until we check it out.
