Looking to upgrade your Tesla P90D to “Ludicrous” speed? You can do that right away, as long as you’re comfortable spending an extra $10,000 on the car.  Head to the Tesla Gear site where you’ll find an acceleration upgrade package that takes you from Insane to Ludicrous. For $10,000, you’ll get a significant acceleration bump: 0 to 60mph in 2.8 seconds, or 10% faster than on a regular model. Furthermore, reaching 155mph is 20% faster than with standard Model S performance.

However, as Mashable points out, that $10,000 comes with a catch: It doesn’t include tax and labor costs. You’ll still have to bring your Tesla P90D in for the upgrade, and the company advises that you call a nearby service center to find out how much you’d have to pay for it. For the time being, not even Tesla’s nearby services know the figure, Mashable reports, though they’ll probably be able to offer more info shortly.

Finally, the upgrade is available only in North America at this time, so if you’re using your Tesla car anywhere else, you’re out of luck for this one.

If you think about it, the upgrade is not really required considering that you still get to 60mph in just 3.1 seconds without it.
