Crazy video shows Apple store being robbed in 13 seconds flat

Apple Store Robbery

If Hollywood has taught us anything, it’s that a well-orchestrated heist needs to be efficient and adhere to a pre-determined and rigid timeline. In the 1995 movie Heat, for example, Robert De Niro and his bank robbing crew gave themselves three minutes inside of a bank before embarking on an escape. Similarly, Patrick Swayze and his crew of bank robbing and Presidential-masked hooligans also adhered to a strict timeline in the oft-overlooked 1991 classic Point Break.

With life having a tendency to imitate art, a group of what appears to be three teenagers pulled off an impressive heist at an Apple retail store in San Francisco. While we’ve seen Apple Store robberies before, this particular incident is notable because the thieves managed to pull it all off in alarmingly quick fashion. From start to finish, our criminal trio needed only 13 seconds before making off with a collection of iPhones and other Apple products.

The incident went down in the evening hours on Friday, November 25 and was captured on in-store security cameras, an interesting tidbit in and of itself given that most Apple retail stores do an incredibly good job of masking the location of innumerable surveillance cameras.

Video of the incident can be seen below.

Notably, a similar heist in San Francisco transpired just four days later, though it remains unclear at this point if both incidents were carried out by the same crew of individuals. As it stands now, the San Francisco Police Department is still looking far and wide for the individuals responsible.

As a final note, it’s worth pointing out that the iPhones the thieves made out with are altogether worthless as they are easily traceable and “locked into a demo mode.”
