Verizon Wireless confirms it will offer Samsung Galaxy Nexus ‘later this year’

As expected, Verizon Wireless announced on Friday that it will offer the newly unveiled Galaxy Nexus later this year. The Galaxy Nexus is the first phone to run Google’s new Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) operating system. It is is equipped with a 4.65-inch Super AMOLED display, a 1.GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, support for NFC, a 5-megapixel camera capable of recording 1080p HD video, a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera for video chats and support for Verizon’s 4G LTE network. Verizon Wireless did not provide pricing details or a concrete release date, it simply confirmed it will offer the phone “later this year.” Read on for the full press release.
