Spotlight for iPhone and full widgets on their way?

Here’s some tasty news for you iPhone fanatics out there…iPhoneology has uncovered some interesting information from inside the iPhone’s file system. It actually might have revealed a couple of Apple’s upcoming plans for the device. It seems as if the phone contains two images buried deep within the file structure named “spotlight-full” and “spotlight-keyboard”. Hmm, very interesting indeed. They also stumbled across a widget icon very similar in design to Tiger’s current widget icon, leading them, and us, to believe that full widget support could be on its way. Bear in mind that this is very rough information, and in no way confirms or denies Apple’s plans….but we’re not above a little speculation now and then, right? From where we’re sitting, Spotlight functionality would be a welcome addition indeed.

Thanks, Jimmie!
