Whether smartphone users can see the difference in pixels or not, “phablets” with 1080p resolution displays are going to become a hot commodity in the next several months. Although the Samsung (005930) Galaxy Note II doesn’t have 1080p display, it is undeniably the king of all phablets released so far. But according to a leak by Blue Ringer Men, Sony’s (SNE) rumored flagship C650 “Odin” smartphone will have a 5-inch display with a 1920 x 1080 resolution, a quad-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor and 2GB of RAM. And if all goes well, it should also have Android 4.1 Jelly Bean as well. The website says that Sony will reveal the new smartphone at CES in January, which Sony has traditionally used as a launchpad to showcase its latest smartphone devices.
