Apple device owners prove once again that they have the itchiest trigger fingers on the market as iOS 7.1 has already been installed on 12% of iPhones, iPads and iPod touches. According to Chitika, the iOS 7.1 adoption rate has been nearly identical to iOS 7.0.6, which accounted for 13.3% of web traffic from iOS devices within its first two days of availability. Although these minor updates aren’t receiving anywhere near the attention of a full number upgrade, iOS 8 is expected to continue the trend of continually higher rates of adoption for successive major releases. Considering that web traffic from all iOS 7 versions combined has stalled out at around 80%, the recent leaks look perfectly timed to reignite excitement for the future of iOS.
