The iOS App Store is constantly being updated with some of the most inventive, addictive games on any gaming platform, but it can be difficult to sort through the thousands of clones and free-to-play money grabs. Thankfully, Metacritic has compiled a list of the 10 top-rated iOS games of April for your viewing pleasure, and if you’ve got a few dollars sitting in your account, this is the month to spend it all.

As expected, Hearthstone took top honors for April, devouring countless hours of mobile gamers’ time after taking the PC crowd by storm last year. The collectible card game is easy to learn, difficult to master and about as flashy as any card game ever produced. If you can restrain yourself from spending any money on packs of cards, there’s hours of fun to be had in Hearthstone completely free of charge.

Some other noteworthy apps include Monument Valley, FTL: Faster Than Light and Hitman GO, each of which are sitting on the home screen of my iPad at this very moment. Monument Valley is a short point-and-click adventure, but what it lacks in length, it makes up for in beautiful design and clever puzzles. Hitman GO takes the conceit of the Hitman franchise and boils it down into a turn-based board game. It’s a bizarre mesh of ideas, but the execution is flawless.

FTL: Faster Than Light is an iPad only release, costs $9.99 and will punish you for the slightest mistake, but this indie phenomenon has stayed atop the charts for one reason: it’s incredibly complex. Fly your ship through an ever-changing galaxy, upgrading your weaponry, gathering crew members and taking out enemy forces along the way. Every death will put you back at the start, but it’s the only way to learn the deviously complex systems presented within the roguelike game.

Here’s the full list:

  1. Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft
  2. Monument Valley
  3. FTL: Faster Than Light
  4. Wayward Souls
  5. Joe Dever’s Lone Wolf – Act 2: Forest Hunt
  6. Leo’s Fortune
  7. CLARC
  8. Yomi
  9. Sometimes You Die
  10. Hitman GO
