Seems hard to believe, but stranger things have happened. Mac Rumors has posted a couple of images that reportedly depict upcoming revisions to the Macbook and Macbook Pro. The promotional images were gleaned from a live .Mac page, belonging to an individual with a valid @apple.com email address and iTunes account. Compelling case for legitimate images, or rumor-mongering at its worst? You be the judge. For what its worth, the new Macbook is supposedly made out of aluminum and have a multi-touch trackpad, while the new Macbook Pro looks to have a black MBA-like keypad, and a newly designed bezel surrounding the screen. The site also mentioned an upcoming iTunes 8 launch, identifying the software drop date as June 10th, which would make sense given the timing of this year’s WWDC. All told, we’re not entirely sure what to make of these shots, but WWDC isn’t too far off, and we imagine that the score will be settled by then.

UPDATE: Little shadiness going on…these images have been “debunked” but there looks like there is something to them.
