Believe it or not, we’re less than a month away from a brand new Star Wars movie. Expectations are at an all-time high, but the sting of the prequel trilogy is still fresh in the minds of an entire generation of moviegoers. Nevertheless, we have to hope for the best, because once The Force Awakens releases, it’s going to dominate every conversation we have.

So rather than fight it, we might as well embrace it.

In order to fully embrace the magnetic pull of Star Wars, many fans are going to spend the next few weeks catching up on the decades-old film franchise by watching the series from start to finish. It’s a big commitment, totaling over 13 hours, but if you just need the highlights, Digg has stumbled upon a video that recaps both trilogies in just 3 minutes:

Of course, you’re missing out on many of the smaller plot points, but if you’ve already seen all six movies multiple times, it’s a good way to shake the cobwebs out before you line up to see The Force Awakens later this month.

If a short refresher course isn’t enough, you can always trim some of the fat by skipping Episode I altogether and watching the remaining five films in the Machete Order (IV, V, II, III, VI). This is what I plan on doing at some point in the next two weeks, as it’s been years since I’ve even attempted to watch the prequels.
