The wait is finally over. On Wednesday night, Nintendo announced that it would debut a preview trailer for the next-generation NX console on October 20th at 7AM PT/10AM ET. In an email, Nintendo stated that the trailer “will serve as Nintendo’s preliminary announcement of information regarding the platform.”

What we officially know about the NX remains extremely limited, but in recent months, huge leaks have likely spoiled some of the console’s major features. According to a report from Eurogamer back in July, the NX will be a hybrid console of sorts which gamers can either take with them on the go or plug in to a dock station which will allow them to play games on their televisions.

In September, reliable insider Emily Rogers published a blog post of her own telling us what we should expect from the final NX product when it launches in March. Some of the highlights include a custom Nvidia GPU, a 6-inch multi-touch screen with 720p resolution, 32GB of built-in storage and detachable controllers.

In all likelihood, we won’t know everything about the NX after the video goes live tomorrow, but at least we’ll finally know what the console looks like and how Nintendo plans to move forward after the disappointment of the Wii U.
