We still have to wait nearly a month to see the highly-anticipated Deadpool movie in theaters, but on Monday afternoon, a bunch of fans in New York and Los Angeles were treated to surprise screenings of the film.

Let’s rewind: a few days ago, the team behind YouTube channel Vsauce announced that they would be hosting two separate fan appreciation events in NYC and LA on Monday, January 18th. The events were to take place at the Bow Tie Chelsea Cinemas in NYC and the AMC Century City 15 in LA.
According to the Eventbrite pages, Vsauce was going to offer “a sneak peek at exclusive, never-before-seen first-look footage from the new movie Deadpool, plus special guests + more” for attendees. It turns out they were slightly underselling the event.
Once the fans piled in to the theaters and took their seats, the movie started… and then kept playing. As it turns out, the “first-look footage” was actually the entire movie, from start to finish. Once the screenings concluded, Ryan Reynolds sat down to speak to the NYC audience and Stan Lee, TJ Miller, director Tim Miller, Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld and more showed up in LA.
As you might expect, the attendees were thrilled (h/t Uproxx):
Well, hell, you guys. They went and made an amazingly awesome, fun, exciting #Deadpool movie. It's outstanding.

Trust me — I’m regretting not signing up for the event just as much as you are. Thankfully, Deadpool will release in theaters for all of us to see on February 12th.
