Years of anticipation have led to this moment. On Saturday, Warner Bros. Pictures and DC shared the first official trailer for Justice League, giving fans an extended look at the superhero team-up movie that everyone has been keeping a close eye on since Man of Steel hit theaters back in 2013.
Justice League will build upon the stories of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and this summer’s Wonder Woman, following Bruce and Diana as they attempt to build a team of heroes to take on a massive threat:
Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
Having failed to win over critics with Man of Steel, Batman v Superman or Suicide Squad, this is DC’s chance to turn things around for its movie universe. And while Marvel fans might not be particularly worried about Justice League stealing the spotlight, the Avengers themselves are preparing for the worst. YouTube user DrMachakil put together a reaction video featuring Marvel’s brightest stars just hours after the Justice League trailer went live, and it’s genuinely pretty funny:
Justice League arrives in theaters on November 17th, 2017.
