October 23rd. That’s when AMC’s critically acclaimed series The Walking Dead is returning with the answer we’ve been waiting for. Who did Negan brutally murder at the end of season 6, in one of the most annoying cliffhangers yet for the popular television series?
A newly released TV commercial for The Walking Dead has hit the web, further toying with our emotions. Some spoilers follow below, so close this page now if you’d rather avoid them.

The short clip is about Negan’s new world. He’s going to be one of the most important characters in season 7 and likely one of the most powerful enemies Rick and his people have ever had to face. As you can see in the 30-second clip video below, AMC shows us some of the characters we love, and ones we know won’t die by Negan’s hand — or at least not in the first episode of the new season.
In addition to Negan, whose authority nobody seem to question yet, we also see Morgan, Carol and Tara. You know, the characters who were not lined up in front of Negan and his bat at the end of season 6. They’re stranded somewhere else for the time being, and they’ll have to face problems of their own.
Jefferey Dean Morgan already revealed a few weeks ago that Rick, Daryl and Glenn do not die by Negan’s hand just yet. Vanity Fair further reports that Eugene and Carl might also be safe. Abraham actor Michael Cudlitz told PopSugar that Abraham will “continue for a while now.”
“Now we get to see what a world with Negan and Abraham both in it will be like. That’s something we don’t see in the graphic novels. So a lot of cool stuff happens,” he said.
Michonne and Maggie seem to be the most likely targets, according to Vanity Fair. Indirect evidence suggested a while ago that Maggie might be the one to die, as Lauren Cohan has been absent from the set.
That said, check out the new trailer below as you continue to wait for the Walking Dead’s return next month.
Everything you have belongs to Negan now. #TWD returns Sunday, October 23.
