Next time you’re waiting on a painfully long line at Starbucks or doing anything where you have some time to kill, there’s a much better way to occupy your time than playing Candy Crush or looking at 700 photos of your friend’s newborn on Facebook. How about spending a few minutes using a great little Google app instead? You’re undoubtedly familiar with many Google apps, but you might not know that there’s one application in particular that Google will actually pay you to use, and that money can then be spent to buy other apps, games, movies, music, books or anything else available in the Google Play store.

We last told you about Google Opinion Rewards all the way back in 2014, and it might’ve even been covered on the site once or twice before then. The app popped up again in a Business Insider post on Thursday though, and we thought it was worth bringing to your attention again. Why? Because everyone loves free stuff, obviously.
Here’s how it works, from the app’s description in the Play store:
Answer quick surveys and earn Google Play credits with Google Opinion Rewards, an app created by Google Consumer Surveys.
Getting started is easy. Download the app and answer basic questions about yourself. We’ll then send you surveys around once a week, although it may be more or less frequent. You’ll get a notification on your phone when a short and relevant survey is ready for you, and can receive up to $1.00 in Play credits for completing it. Questions can range from, “Which logo is best?” and “Which promotion is most compelling?” to “When do you plan on traveling next?”
It couldn’t be easier, and it’s a much more productive use of your time than taking a selfie for the 57th time today.
