The next generation of Android smartwatches is right around the corner, and LG is first in line with the slick G Watch. A few images have made their way into the wild, but LG’s new preview site explores the wearable device in even greater detail, revealing a few features along the way.
At the top of the page, you can see the color options for the device: Stealth Black and Champagne Gold. Further down, LG highlights some of the features of the Android Wear software that will power the G Watch, from reminders to GPS navigation. Android Wear will also retain the “Ok Google” voice command functionality of Android smartphones and tablets.
One seemingly unannounced detail appearing on the page is the G Watch’s always-on display. Any time you lift up your wrist, the screen will show the time and weather conditions without prompting you to hit a power button first. The G Watch will also be water and dust resistant, allowing it to survive “outdoor activities in rough conditions.”
Finally, LG has included a small gallery of G Watch photos, showcasing the device from every conceivable angle. There’s even an interactive 360-degree image to mess around with if you want to get an idea of what the device looks like in person. Check out the site at the source link below.
