Pokemon Go might not be as popular as it was at its peak last summer, but it still has a massive user base of loyal players — sorry, trainers — who simply can’t shake their Pokemon addiction. The global phenomenon continues to captures the minds and phones of tens of millions of mobile gamers who just can’t seem to get enough of these little virtual creatures.

The good news is that fresh new Pokemon Go updates are about to be released for both the iPhone and for Android phones. The bad news is that while there are some bug fixes and other improvements to be found in the updates, there isn’t much else.

The Pokemon Go team at Niantic posted a quick update on Thursday night to let Pokemon Go fans know that fresh new updates are in the process of being released. On the iPhone, the update will bump Pokemon Go to version 1.31.0 from the current version 1.29.1. Android users will see their Pokemon Go apps jump to 0.61.0 from 0.59.1.
So, what’s new in these upcoming updates? Here’s the complete change log from Niantic:
- Added Traditional Chinese language support.
- Updated the Pokémon collection screen scroll bar.
- Various bug fixes.
- Minor text fixes.
As you can clear see, this is not a huge update like the recent one that brought a new wave of generation 2 Pokemon to Pokemon Go. Players will undoubtedly appreciate the bug fixes though, and the UI tweaks should help as well. Keep your eye peeled for the new updates and remember, if you’re a hardcore Pokemon Go player you should probably pick up a Pokemon Go Plus so that your smartphone battery doesn’t die every 20 minutes.
