The same two consoles that have dominated sales in previous years are still the hottest gaming rigs in town. Sure, they have received updates that make them even more appealing, but the PS4 and the Xbox One are still the undisputed kings of the console gaming universe.
This year they’re better and cheaper than ever. Sony and Microsoft slashed the prices for the PS4 and Xbox One S for Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Green Monday. But if you missed out on any of those sales, then we have good news for you.
Microsoft’s Xbox One and Xbox One S bundles will cost you $50 less through Christmas Eve, matching previous holiday deals. According to Microsoft’s Xbox Wire blog, the deals are available at Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, Microsoft Stores, and Walmart, to name just a few.
We already told you that Best Buy cut the prices for the PS4 and Xbox One S this Sunday, but it looks like Best Buy won’t be the only one to sell you cheaper consoles in the final weeks leading to Christmas.
In case you’re a fan of the other console, you needn’t worry about it being more expensive. Sony is also dropping the price of the PS4 by $50, which means bundles will sell for the same $249 as Xbox One S consoles.
However, don’t expect to find the brand new PS4 Pro in stores for the same low price. Sony’s 2016 console update will be slightly more expensive, which is always the case with brand new hardware releases.
That said, the tough job begins now. You’ll have to choose the perfect bundle, and what to do with the extra $50 that you save. You could get an extra controller or game to go with your console purchase — head on over to Microsoft’s store to see what’s on sale — or you could even decide to upgrade the storage of your console. $249 bundles include 500GB consoles, while $299 bundles will get you 1TB of storage.
