ITC judge rules that Apple does not infringe on HTC patents

Legal

A judge with the United States International Trade Commission has ruled that Apple is not infringing on four of HTC’s patents related to phone dialing and battery power management, Reuters said Monday. HTC originally filed the lawsuit in May of last year when it sought a ban on the import of Apple’s iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. The final ruling in the case will occur in February when the verdict of a full commission is revealed. Apple and HTC have been locked in a number of legal battles. Apple first sued HTC in March and a U.S. ITC judge found HTC guilty of infringing on two of Apple’s patents in July. HTC has said it will appeal that ruling.

my friend’s step-aunt makes 70$/hour on the computer. She has been unemployed for 5 months but last month her pay was 7740$ just working on the computer for a few hours. Read about it on this web site MakeCash1.com

In your face HTCrap, IN YO FACE

You do realise that this is not the case where HTC “borrowed” patents from Google, but an older one. Apple still has at least one more suit against HTC.

      • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_ZETAEC2YUIDZN23QRSD6NC46NU INtrepid_BearCub

I think you might have meant that HTC still has at least one more suit against Apple… they’ve filed 3 or 4 so far, and I’m guessing this is the ruling for the first one.

      • http://identi.ca/LauRoman LaurenÈ›iu Roman

Since it took the american legal system ~15 years to sort ot the Microsoft – Novell Wordperfect suit i don’t think it’s gonna end too soon.

To all of the sheeples, I know you want to see Android fail but take this into consideration. If Android isn’t around then your precious Apple will no longer have to up the ante up and make better products. No competitors = no innovation. I’m an Android user, but I don’t want to see Apple fail.

      Android already = fail

Lol you probably look so homo with your iPad

      • Bringit

Androidnerds love homo and cock talk.  It’s well documented.  And they say “lol” all the time, the most homo thing you can say.

Excellent argument, I really agree with your use of math in a discussion based on patent portfolios of large technology companies. Glad to see we have a bunch of intelligent folks manning the fort here.

        Thank you.

Here’s the thing. If that were true, where did the iPhone come from, where did the iPad come from?

      • Anonymous

You’re missing the point. If it wasn’t for Android, iPhone would still exist but it would have a 480×320 display, 5mp camera, pop up notifications and no custom background images.

      • Anonymous

I understand that.  But where did the motivation come for the first iPhone?  Just curious…

      • BBM

iPhone motivation came from HTC touch phones. You know, touch screen phones did exist prior to June 2007 right? Ever heard of Windows mobile?

      • http://twitter.com/GRZLA Grizzly Atoms

The iPhone came from the LG Prada. Tablets have existed LONG before Apple made one.

      • Anonymous

LG Prada was announced in December 2006
Original iPhone was announced in January 2007

Nobody can copy a competitors products that fast, especially not when they need it to run a new mobile OS. The Prada only beat the iPhone to market by 3 months! Whatever Apple’s inspiration was for the Original iPhone, it wasn’t the Prada, though you can make a good case for the iPhone-4s physical design being inspired by it.

        And everyone uses that phone.

Right on Skinny Arms.  You need competition.  What we don’t need is one side calling the other “stupid” or “intellectually inferior” like sometimes us Goofans (aka Apple Haters) do or “geek” or “living in mom’s basement” like Apple Fanboys do.  I like my 25 Android phones and guess what?  I got the iPhone 4S so I could talk to Siri at night.  God she’s sexy!  Arrrr!!!!!!

      • Anonymous

omg! you got an apple device?!

      • Anonymous

I know, I know.  I am sorry, I couldn’t resist.  Siri is soooooo freaking sexy.  I have been playing her all night every night since I got it on Friday.

      • Anonymous

Too bad all the loyals with an iPhone 4 GOT THE SHAFT FROM APPLE and can’t run an app that was once on the market for them to download.  All hail Apple!  But that’s ok, to get siri all you have to do is throw away your 1 year old device and BUY ANOTHER!  Hook, line and sinker suckers!!!

How does Apple become the most profitable company in the world?  By shafting their loyals and making them buy new for features they once had!!  HAHAHAHA!!!  And they bend over (I mean shell for it) over and over again.  LOL!  APPLE CAN’T LOSE!!

      • Anonymous

Darn it, you are so freaking right.  Who waits a year for a new device when in our world of Android we have to switch every couple of weeks.  Right.  Man, the intellect of fellow Goofans (aka Apple Haters) is unrivaled!!!!!

    • Anonymous

You can have competition without copying; look at WP7.

Although “competition” might be a strong word currently for WP7, but…

HTC suing for battery management patent lol, now that’s funny.

    • Anonymous

I like HTC more than Apple, but even I find it funny.

    • http://twitter.com/GRZLA Grizzly Atoms

This patent is one of that Microsoft uses to get Android OEM’s to build their crappy WP7 devices. Maybe it was the way a battery is managed, but it has something to do with displaying battery power in some way. The other is calendars on a mobile device.

    • Truthbetold

Apple is suing for Samsung making their tablet square….is that not funny. What other shape would it be?

  • Randall

Between this and the Samsung fiasco I’m beginning to wonder if Android manufacturers are hiring expensive enough lawyers. C’mon guys, it’s well-established that Legal is more important than R&D in the mobile phone business; if you want to play the game, you’d better step up.

Is it me or is Apple paying off all these judges and courts worldwide?  My fellow Goofans (aka Apple Haters) tell me the only reason all these “legal minds” are siding with Apple is because either Apple paid them off or threaten their lives.  I believe that.

Sigh… You’re like the person who watches Fox News just so you can hear news from your angle.  What a ridiculous and misguided claim.

OMG!!!!  I am a Goofan (aka Apple Hater) which means I am a democrat aka progressive (like 90% of Googlers) so I would NEVER EVER watch Fox News.

Yes MSNBC and CNN have zero liberal bias.  By their very nature, the media never sensationalizes the news.  Sensationalism lowers viewer ratings.  Although I did hear somewhere that Google is the number one liberal brand.  I could care less.  It’s pointless to let hobbies/personal interests compare on a 1:1 basis with your political ideology.  I don’t know about you Brian Kane, but I get my news from the number one factual source, The Daily Show.

It’s thanks to subliminal messages on the imperceptible pixels in the retina display. Naturally Apple has patented the process.

Some people believe that Apple is forced to innovate on the mobile space because of Android, I don’t think so, when the iPhone arrived Google was changing its Blackberry ripoff to make it look more like an iPhone ripoff, so stop pretending that HTC, Samsung and others are innovating, making phones with 5 inches lcd screen is not innovation, Apple had the Newton with a bigger screen and people were complaining about how difficult to hold it in one hand, so if you believe that adding 4G to a phone to end up seeing your battery dry up in 3 hours or less is innovation, then I won’t be jumping to any 4G based phone.  Apple is not forced by any of its so called rivals, Apple is just driven by real commitment to bring something that JUST WORKS, how amazing is to have your phone behave like your phone.
