HP TouchPad just $379.99 today from Woot

Retail

While HP holds a $100-off sale of its own from Friday through Sunday, the product peddlers over at Woot managed to procure an unknown number of webOS tablets on Friday, and it’s offering them at a big discount. Woot is currently selling the 16GB HP TouchPad tablet — new, not refurbished — for $379.99. Tack on the site’s customary $5 shipping and you’re still saving $15 compared to the lowest price we’ve seen for the slate. We reviewed the HP TouchPad back in June and we found that while webOS was a pleasure to use on a large-form device, the hardware was lacking.

They can keep dropping the price but they will not too many more of these devices or the next model.

There is a market for iPads and what there is not a market for are tablets.

so you’re saying the iPad is not a tablet?

  • Lo

Not a bad deal at all.

It went down so soon, Now we know why John Rubinstein was removed as webOS lead.

      Why?

      • Anonymous

        Because TouchPad was a dud.

Touchpad comes with no services…. What these Tablets fail to realize is that you need an ECO SYSTEM. Phones are one thing but to justify the use of a Tablet you need everything there when you buy it. That’s why the iPad is so successful… ANd now Android tablets will be because now Google has Movies and Music (hopefully to buy coming soon) And the Apps for Honeycomb are ramping up…..

There is ZERO reason to buy a Touchpad right now.

HP has a Movie and Music store as well.

Not on the TouchPad they don’t… I mean eventually they’ll come along but…

The TouchPad(webOS) had/has more tablet specific apps than Honeycomb on Android.

I know the Touchpad has issues but at $380 that is a good deal. Only better deal is the Nook Color for $200.

Its a pretty good deal. I do have some gripes about Palm (HP) though. Its excusable to release an OS that is 3/4 baked. updates can be pushed OTA to polish it off. What is not excusable is to repeatedly push sub standard hardware. I am a big fan of the Palm Pre but was forced to pick up an EVO after 3 different Pre’s broke.

They should have used different hardware for the touch pad. No one serious about tablets is building sub standard hardware.

      Smart man.

Not surprised because Its a webOS devise, something you should never run out and purchase until after the first or second month when prices are almost guaranteed to drop drastically.

I wouldn’t pay $99 for that piece of junk.

It’s not junk and I’d gladly pay $99 for it. I already have an iPad and love the crap out of it but my iPad 2 wants a brother

The HP Touchpad is a THICK, BULKY tablet made of CHEAP plastic.
