HTC Puccini, the company’s first 10-inch tablet, uncovered

Exclusive

In addition to exclusively revealing the first photos of AT&T’s Samsung Galaxy S II earlier this morning, we also got our hands on the first solid images of HTC’s upcoming 10-inch slate, codenamed the HTC Puccini. While confirmed specifications are light for the time being, the tablet will feature an 8-megapixel camera with what appears to be a dual-LED flash, as well as stereo speakers and a microphone. Also, as we can clearly see in the image above, the Puccini will support stylus input just like the HTC Flyer. Earlier reports suggest the tablet will include a 1.5GHz processor, Android Honeycomb, HTC Sense and a 4G LTE radio. There’s still no word on a launch date, but let’s hope it’s sooner rather than later. Check out the rest of the photos in our HTC Puccini gallery below.

I just paid $22.87 for an iPad2-64GB and my girlfriend loves her Panasonic Lumix GF 1 Camera that we got for $38.76 there arriving tomorrow by UPS. I will never pay such expensive retail prices in stores again. Especially when I also sold a 40 inch LED TV to my boss for $675 which only cost me $62.81 to buy. Here is the website we use to get it all from, MetaCent. com

    A Pen?

Does it also come with a miniature windmill or a hand brand to make up for poor battery life?

Is this because some skinny turtle-neck-wearing dweeb told us the stylus was dead? I imagine many people in the creative arts industry will actually find the fine-point accuracy of a stylus incredibly superior over the blunt touch of a pudgy finger. At the end of the day if you don’t want it, then don’t use it.  Freedom comes with choice. Let’s not blindly follow the dogma of one man and his evangelistic throngs.

Yeah, ’cause this baby was made for artists!

Sorry Tablet + Stylus = Fail

I did not say it was made for artists nor any particular group. In fact, my point was that it gives you the freedom to choose to use a stylus or not. Now as someone who uses a wacom tablet for sketching and 3d post-production work, I would find it very useful to have a device that allowed me to sketch my ideas while away from my desk. While it may not have the full accuracy or pressure sensitivity of a wacom devise I do see several niche groups warming to this tablet. We don’t all use our tablets for Facebook and angry birds… check out autodesk sketchbook pro for instance. It’s about choice. This offers something others don’t.

Good thing its a 10 incher- with phone screens getting so big, I dont see the point of the seven inchers- too big to carry around, and too small to render media, IMHO. Hope Sprint picks this up.
