Is this the HTC Supersonic?

Rumor

htc-supersonic-spy

Mr. Blurrycam strikes again and this time, he brings along his friend Mr. Grainycam to shoot a few quick shots of the HTC Supersonic. The handset in the photos has the look of a typical HTC prototype device with its minimalistic appearance and name emblazoned on the back. According to the tipster and as previously rumored, the Supersonic will feature a 4.3 inch AMOLED screen, kickstand, 1GHz Snapdragon processor and Sprint WiMAX compatibility. Any opinions on the validity of these photos are welcome in the comments and if you need a closer look, you can hit the jump for one more blurry and grainy shot of the backside of the phone.

I don’t know what could be more worse than not to add a GPS capability like the ones from garmin on this model, I mean its 2010 already, right? GPS should be a part of our normal lives. GPS details: http://bit.ly/diy-gps-guide

    Yuck Sprint?

I’ll pass along with everyone else who doesn’t work at their KC call center.

at&t’s android htc device better be fucking spectacular. the backflip and that dell crap are NOT cutting it.

  • Dilbert

    Way to ruin any device?

    Launch it on Sprint.

Android better be careful unless it wants the reputation that Sprint-Boost customers have earned for themselves.

  • dominik

@Dilbert, why launch it on Sprint, because on my 27th floor condo downtown Chicago, AT&T’s phones says searching for signal, Sprint phone say full 3G signal. That’s why I will continue to support Sprint.

    • Christoher Cox

@dominik: And … that really depends on where you are at doesn’t it? In the datacenter where I used to work, the only carriers that worked were AT&T and Verizon. The people with Sprint constantly had issues, same with T-Mobile. Verizon had good signal, and AT&T did too although 3G didn’t work. Edge data worked fine though.

Around here, Sprint is not so good.

lately on HTC phone, i like every single one of they….and HTC HD2 will arrived in my hand soon…. can’t wait….

  • Noel

Amazing…i hope it is also Tmo bound w/ same specks or even more as the Tmo bound HD2. Ppl simply put..Htc has taken Android phones to another level..even though there are other Android phone manufacturers…Htc is really the back bone of Android phones. If it hasn’t already…i would say in another year or so Htc will have a phones that beats the iphone hands down in all category. In my view..the Nexus one beats the iphone speck wise abt 60-70 %. Whats up Google…to this day i hvn’t seen a single Nexus one commercial on tv…i know it is plastered all over the net..but not every one has a pc. Such a gr8 phone but no ad blitz to sell it to the masses..hence the poor first weekly sales :( . Not too late to make the presence of the Google N1 known to all w/ an ad blitz to rival that of the Droid…drop the unlocked price as well..say $400-$450. Google should keep in mind there are other powerful Htc Android devices coming up with htc sense ui and many will wait for those..so make it easy for them to get the N1 now.

Something is only the backbone of ANYTHING if things depend on it. Currently, HTC is not the leader of Android Phones. I see a lot more people with Droids than anything HTC. The only HTC phones I ever see are G1 hand me downs. Just because they have great specs does not make them the backbone. It is whoever leads that industry. HTC is the backbone of Windows Mobile phones. Android … not so much YET.

      • Matt

Ever heard of the Nexus One? That’s an HTC.

      • Ghozt718

he means that htc is the leader in android phones as in they started and have mostly all the phones not popularity the only reason the droid is so popular is cause look who backed the commercials motorola and verizon have you ever played with the droid??? its trash and are you serious??? you never heard of the mytouch? the eris the hero the tattoo the pulse the nexus one annnnnnd motorola has the cliq and the droid wow lol yeah you know what youre talking about…

      • IT&T

I happen to see tons of people with mytouch 3gs(Htc)

  • Matt

In my area Sprint has excellent signal and 3g so I’m waiting for a phone so I can switch.

Why can’t they come out with an Android that has a keyboard I got too many emails to use some onboard keyboard :(

Also am I the only one who really likes having physical call/end buttons?

    • Christoher Cox

Not to nit-pick, but physical keyboard ARE on-board keyboards. Unless of course, you want to carry around a separate keyboard as an accessory to your phone … it is “on-board” because it is attached. You mean you don’t like touch-screen keyboards.

I think physical call/end buttons are wonderful for a plain phone. But, i don’t buy these to use them as regular phones. They are data devices first and foremost, and a phone when I need it. So, since I rarely use the phone portion … I would hate to have space taken up by buttons I use less frequently. If I were to buy a normal dumbphone, it had better hand physical call and end keys.

  • AndroidAddict

I truly hope the specs they released actually come to fruition. Matt Sprint does have a Android device with a keyboard, the Samsung Moment. Haters are always gonna be around and every providers service varies depending on area. Sprint in my area is absolutely amazing and works everywhere. HTC please make this a killer device!!

  • AusFest

    Well BGR, is it?

  • gspot

PhoneArena.com ~~> It is being released with SPRINT ~.^

  • jose george

Dont understand why if verizon and google have supposibly teamed up why we only have two android phones every one else has alot more or at least have really nice phones coming their way really soon yet nothing really hot for the big red other than the nexus one and dates or no where in site

  • Ghozt718

i live an hour away from new york a hour away from philly 45 mins away newark i have 5 bars EVERY WHERE I GO even in the corn fields around here i have full bars 3 the LOWEST never dropped a call so by people saying launching android phones on sprint is murder is no offense but retarded cause sprint does have REALLY good signal in a lot of place granted not in some areas wow big woop believe it or not people verizon has shitty spots WOW NO NOT VERIZON yeah verizon sucks balls too so its all based on where you live which is why people “stand up” for the carrier they have so before you say dumb shit like “sprint sucks” or “tmobile sucks” realize that they suck in other people spots… duuuuhhhhhh…. just saying…….

  • Sprint FAN
