T-Mobile’s trying to build on the success of their Wi-Fi calling UMA service, Hotspot@Home, by launching a similar service for landline phones. It’s called Talk Forever (yes, we’ve been hearing about this for ages), it allows unlimited domestic landline calling, but it does require a new Hotspot@Home router. You won’t be able to use one of your existing ones like you can do now with your mobile phone. Talk Forever also requires a $10/month plan added to your T-Mobile account. We’ve heard the new routers will offer two SIM card slots which would allow you to make your landline and mobile calls from one phone, though that’s not confirmed. Only downside? It’s only available in Seattle and Dallas for now.
