After teasing it for several days, Samsung finally unveiled the Galaxy View on Wednesday — a massive tablet with an 18.4-inch display built for consumers who want to consume their media on the move without sacrificing screen size.

Other than its unmissable Full HD display, the Galaxy View also features 1.6GHz octa-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 32/64GB of internal storage (with expandable microSD card slot), 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera (for video calls) and a 5,700 mAh battery for up to eight hours of continuous video playback.
If the primary function of the Galaxy View is to watch movies and TV shows, the hardware should certainly be enough to handle any HD content you can throw at it, but Samsung says the has also “been designed with a video-centric interface in mind.”
In the image above, you can see the dedicated home screen that will allow users to access their favorite content services without having to scour through any menus.
As for sound, Samsung has included two 4W stereo speakers, which should suffice if you don’t have anything else in your home to pair with the tablet. There’s also a “versatile 2-way stand,” but it’s hard to tell if it detaches or swivels or folds in against the tablet from the information provided and the pictures we’ve seen.
