It looks like the Galaxy Note 4 may barely beat the iPhone 6 to market

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Release Date

Apple is looking to get into the phablet game this fall but the original phablet king is hoping to undercut it by releasing what should be its best giant smartphone yet. SamMobile points us to a new report in Korean publication NewsTomato claiming that Samsung is rushing to get Galaxy Note 4 production up to speed so it can launch the device right after its unveiling at IFA 2014 this September.

IFA this year takes place between September 5th and September 10th, so we’re likely looking at a release date shortly afterward if NewsTomato’s report is accurate. This projected release date also means that Samsung’s newest phablet will likely just beat Apple’s iPhone 6 to market by around a week, as some reports have said that Apple plans to officially release the new device on September 19th.

Everything we’ve heard about the Galaxy Note 4 so far suggests it’s going to be an absolute beast of a phone and rumored specs for the device include a 5.7-inch QHD display with a resolution of 1,440 x 2,560 pixels, a 2.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor and a 16-megapixel camera with optical image stabilization (OIS). Samsung has been tipped launch the device alongside its “premium” Galaxy F smartphone this fall, which will be the first Samsung flagship phone to use a metal casing.
