Everyone can finally buy a OnePlus One… but only one day a week

February 9th, 2015 at 6:30 PM
OnePlus One Weekly Sale

One of the most intriguing Android phones of 2014 has also been the most difficult to acquire, but OnePlus is finally going to make its CyanogenMod device more accessible to the masses. Starting this Tuesday, OnePlus let anyone buy a One from its online store without an invite.

But there’s a catch.

DON’T MISS: The first disappointing rumor we’ve heard about the iPhone 6s

The open sale will only last for 24 hours every week. Starting at 3 a.m. ET every Tuesday, anyone will be able to purchase a 16GB Silk White or 64GB Sandstone Black OnePlus One, but 24 hours later, sales will be restricted to those with invites for the next six days.

It’s not the elimination of the invite system that many customers have been waiting for, but it’s a perfectly acceptable compromise for the time being. If you’ve missed out on the sporadic 24 hour sales events that have cropped up in months previous, you now have a schedule to stick to if you want your own OnePlus One.

OnePlus has also recently begun selling its phone in India. The company has decided to celebrate the successful launch with a separate open sales event which will let customers in India purchase a One from without an invite on February 10th at 10 a.m. IST.

Between the expansion of sales, the upcoming Android 5.0 update and rumors of an impending sequel device, OnePlus is poised for an exciting 2015.
