Google’s upcoming new Nexus devices, including a new LG Nexus 5 handset that goes by the name of Nexus 5X and a Huawei-made phablet called the Nexus 6, are reportedly going to be announced on September 29th. The handsets have been featured in extensive leaks, including actual pictures, and a new report offers an actual preorder date for both devices.

According to sources familiar with the matter who spoke with TalkAndroid, the Nexus 5X and the new Huawei Nexus will be available for preorder two weeks after the September 29th event. A shipping date hasn’t been mentioned, but the tech blog notes that, historically, Google shipped its Nexus devices approximately one to three weeks after preorders started.

Comparatively, the Nexus 6 was announced on October 15th last year, with preorders starting precisely two weeks later, on October 29th.

Meanwhile, a second report from Android Pit offers a second image of the Nexus 5X next to the old Nexus 5 – see it below. The tech site posted a few days ago an image showing the rear side of the handset (see top photo), and the new image appears to come from the same source.

The image suggests the new iPhone 5X will be significantly thinner than the old model. Furthermore, the side buttons placement also seems to have been updated compared to the previous design.
