Google is having a big event on Tuesday to unveil its two new Nexus phones. But unlike Apple, which plays its cards closer to the vest, Google wasn’t able to protect the secrecy of its upcoming new devices, and we already know that the giant company plans to unveil two Nexus smartphones and a new Chromecast device during the show.
Here’s what you can expect to see at Google’s presser on Tuesday.

Nexus 5X
The new Nexus 5 model will be called Nexus 5X, and it’ll be LG’s third smartphone specifically conceived to highlight a new vanilla version of Android, in this case, Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
The phone is also supposed to be the more affordable device of the two, sporting sub-flagship specs that would make it a more attractive to fans of the Nexus line who aren’t necessarily interested in spending iPhone-like prices on a handset able to run Google’s latest operating system.
The Nexus 5X is supposed to have a 5.2-inch display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16/32GB of storage, 12,3-megapixel camera, 5-megapixel selfie camera, 2,700 mAh battery, dual front speakers, fingerprint sensor on the back and USB Type-C connectivity.
Nexus 6P
Huawei has been tapped for the first time ever to make a Nexus device, likely a recognition from Google that it needs a major Android player for China to get back into a market it left not long ago.
The Nexus 6P will be the worthy successor of the Nexus 6, which means it’ll be the high-end Nexus device this year.
But a thorough leak suggested on Monday that the new Google phone will be the best Nexus handset in the history both when it comes to design and build quality, but also hardware.
The phone will feature a metal unibody design – and it’s supposedly “slim and sophisticated.” The Nexus 6P shares many hardware features with the Nexus 5X. In fact, aside from screen size, processor, RAM, storage and battery, the devices are virtually identical. The 5.7-inch phablet packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32/64/128GB memory options and 3,450 mAh battery, while everything else is similar.
Chromecast number two
The second-gen Chromecast that some of you may have been waiting for is finally coming, a recent report revealed. The gadget is supposed to have an odd pear-like shape, but the new design might help with improving Wi-Fi performance. The device will support Fast Play activity, supposedly letting users cast content faster than before.
Additionally, a Chromecast Audio device might also be on tap, an accessory for speakers that will let you mirror audio from a Chrome browser or other devices to speakers.
Android 6.0 Marshmallow
This one is practically a given. The new major Android release brings over a variety of neat features, such as native support for fingerprint sensors, a reinvented mobile payments solution called Android Pay, support for USB Type-C ports, smarter Google Now (including Google Now on Tap functionality), better control of app permissions, and a slew of other improvements that will make Android an even more enjoyable experience for fans of the platform.
