Motorola’s website has been the source of many leaks related to the company’s upcoming smartphone models, and it looks like more details about Motorola’s next flagship device have been uncovered. According to code found by Mobiltelefon.ru on the MotoMaker portion on the website, Motorola may soon offer buyers a 64GB Moto X model. The code could also suggest that such an option will be available to the Moto X+1 handset coming later this year, which should also be customizable via the same MotoMaker tool.

So far, the 2013 Motorola flagship handset has been available only in 16GB and 32GB options, but things may change in the future, once the Moto X+1 arrives.

Motorola has proven that it’s ready to listen to its customers by launching a Moto G version with LTE and microSD support – previous Moto G models did not have support for expandable storage. So it would make sense to see both the Moto X and a Moto X+1 get 64GB of built-in storage, if such a move is in the works.

For what it’s worth, a recent leak revealed the Moto X+1 will come with 32GB of built-in storage.

The code suggests the 64GB model would cost an $100 more than the basic version (or $449.99), but a 64GB Moto X can’t be purchased at this time. The company sells the 16GB and 32GB version for $349.99 and $399.99, respectively. Neither version has microSD support, which would let users add more storage to the handset.

Screenshots received by Android Police show that Sprint apparently planned to take online-only orders for the 64GB Moto X model on May 23. However, that has not happened and it’s not clear when the device would be launched.

The Moto X+1 has already been confirmed on the company’s website, and it’s expected to launch with all big four carriers in the U.S. However, Motorola is yet to unveil its 2014 flagship smartphone. During its press event last week Motorola only launched an even more affordable Moto E model, and the LTE Moto G.
