Black Friday may have come and gone, but there’s an incredible iPhone 6s deal available via AT&T that’s flying a bit under the radar. For the next three weeks, AT&T is offering prospective iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus buyers a rather rare “buy one get one free” deal. Now, given how tightly Apple tends to control the promotion of its products, this is something of a curious surprise. Historically, Apple has vehemently shied away from “buy one get one free” promotions. What’s more, with the holiday shopping season still in full swing, it seems a bit out of character for Apple to be promoting its flagship product this way.
Then again, Apple is also making other uncharacteristic moves in an effort to sell more iPhone 6s units.

9to5Mac received confirmation from AT&T that the promotion is 100% legit and ongoing. So while you won’t find it listed on AT&T’s website, you can most definitely head into your local AT&T store and take advantage of the promotion.
Of course, there are two caveats worth mentioning.
First, the free iPhone only comes in 16GB. And two, the deal is subject to AT&T’s Next pricing plan which requires users to pay for the overall cost of the phone in either 20, 24, or 30 monthly installments. The typical range of AT&T Next options, which comes with the ability to upgrade as early as 12 months in, is listed below.
- AT&T Next 24: Divided into 30 installments; trade in and upgrade after 24 installments.
- AT&T Next 18: Divided into 24 installments; trade in and upgrade after 18 installments.
- AT&T Next 12: Divided into 20 installments; trade in and upgrade after 12 installments.
- AT&T Next with down payment: 30% of device cost down, divided into 28 installments; trade in and upgrade after 12 installments.
Note, though, that if you want to take advantage of the buy one get one free offer, you’ll have to opt for the AT&T Next 24 plan.
The deal is slated to end on December 31, giving you ample time to head on over to a local AT&T shop and sign up for this rare deal.
If you’re more of an Android person, not to worry, AT&T is running a similar promotion for Samsung devices as well.
