There have been several rumors that manufacturers are having trouble putting together enough iPad minis to meet demand right before the launch and now an unnamed source has told Japanese blog Macotakara that one of Apple’s (AAPL) OEMs has had to stop production of the tablet’s case due to a “form shift.” The blog says that the design “based on leaked iPad mini” that we’ve seen so far “may be dropped” in favor of a rounder one. If the iPad mini’s production really is in dire straits we’ll likely know soon since Apple is rumored to be sending out event invitations for the new tablet on Wednesday. If Apple sends out its invitations, then the rumored production problems are either false or not as significant as has been reported.
