Huawei rumored to announce Windows Phone 8 smartphone on September 25th

Shortly after Microsoft (MSFT) announced Windows Phone 8, Huawei (002502) revealed that it had partnered with the software giant to offer a new smartphone later this year. According to a report from Chinese website Wimp.cn, Huawei will announce its new Windows Phone 8 smartphone, the Ascend W1, at a press conference on September 25th. Pricing details are unknown at this time, however the device is expected to compete directly with Nokia’s (NOK) new Lumia 920. The Ascend W1 is expected to be available in black, white, blue and pink later this year in Europe, China and the United States.
